The Swans have lost two of their last three games and face the prospect of dropping out of the top three altogether if they cannot beat the Goannas, or Wagga Tigers at Robertson Oval in the final round.

Griffith will be provided with a much-needed boost in personnel with Jordan Iudica, Heath Northey, Nathan Richards, Sam Daniel and Blake Argus to return to play MCUE at Exies Oval.

It will be Richards first game in two months after suffering a foot injury in the 65-point loss to MCUE back in June and Griffith coach Will Griggs is happy to have their ruckman back on depth.

"It's made it tough, obviously we've had some boys that have battled hard in there but when you've got a guy there who's six foot five, six foot six sitting on the bench, it will be nice to get him back out there," Griggs said.

The Swans' latest loss came at home to Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong last Sunday. Griggs is not worried about his team's form heading into the business end of the season.

"Not at all. Obviously we were missing some key personnel but I thought the effort was there on the weekend," he said.

"They kicked a goal after the siren, which made the score worse than what it was and with two of our starting on-ballers not there, I'm pretty sure they would have made a big difference and we get them back this week."

Griffith were unbeaten heading into their first meeting against MCUE earlier in the season, but have lost four of their last eight going into the return bout.

"We get third spot on the ladder locked in if we get the win and even still we've got a bit of percentage on Ganmain yet," Griggs said.

"We've got a point to prove after last time against Mango over there so the boys are looking forward to it.

"We've had a short six-day break but the boys have recovered pretty well. We'll have a pretty easy week on the track. Games against Ganmain are always pretty physical so we would have had a light week anyway."

Griggs certainly does not underestimate the importance of a top-three finish and double chance come finals.

"It's pretty crucial," he said.

"Coolamon look like they'll finish on top so to get that second chance and be able to play Wagga in the first round of finals is our goal at the moment."
