It was a hard-hitting, highly physical game between the two teams, but once the smoke had cleared the Lions emerged victorious with a decisive 91-63 win.
Swans coach Will Griggs said Sunday's game had not been the team's best performance of the season.
"We were too patchy. Too many of us were off our game today," Griggs said.
"There were a few blokes who won their positions, but there were too many who didn't.
"It doesn't help when you have seven of your top players out, but we welcome them back over the next few weeks."
Griggs did, however, give a special shoutout to Jacob Conlan whose fearsome performance as a forward earned his team three goals.
The Swans started the game off on the front foot, but then allowed a couple of easy points to slip past them in the second quarter of the match.
However in the third quarter of the match the Swans shored up their defenses and it was looking as though they might just have a shot at turning things around.
After some clever plays the Swans managed to narrow the gap between them, but still finished the third quarter behind on 48 to 56.
The Swans' momentum was short-lived, and by the time the fourth quarter rolled around the Lions had secured a sizeable lead of 91 to 63.
The round 16 defeat puts the Swans third on the ladder, with their next match being against the MCUE Goannas at 2.10pm at the Griffith Exies Oval.
The team will be looking forward to getting several of their key players back on the field in fighting form, and they'll be looking to bring their A-game for the last few matches of the season.
Currently the Coolamon Rovers are sitting at the number one spot on the ladder with 56 points, with the Wagga Tigers following hot on their heels in second place on 52 points.
