It's part of Purple Day, where people get behind the fight against cancer and drum up excitement for the tenth Griffith Relay for Life in October.
Griffith Relay for Life chairwoman Tammy Hirst said she was consistently blown away by the support of the community, which always gets behind Purple Day.
"Purple is the colour of hope for so many who have suffered or lost loved ones from cancer," Ms Hirst said.
"Purple Day is about getting the message out there."

Since it began in 2002, the relay committee have raised $726,000 with Cancer Council NSW over the course of nine relays.
Committee member Grant Hearn said he's eagerly awaiting the tenth relay, which has already attracted a great deal of interest from the community.
"It's not just about raising money; it's a unique platform where we come together and walk alongside our survivors," he said.
