Griffith Retirement opened the scoring through Tara Arnall, with Easts' Lisa Peterson showing an outstanding defensive effort to restrict the scoring from the Griffith Retirement attack.
The close contest swung back in favour of Easts thanks to a brace from Amie Salvestro, whose two goals was enough to see off Griffith Retirement and claim a 2-1 victory for Easts.
The other game saw the Galahs take on Hotel Victoria. Despite efforts from the Galahs' April Webster, the side was unable to keep up with their opponents, with Hotel Victoria storming to a 6-0 victory.
Karren Johnston and Hamish Ellis bagged a pair of goals each for Hotel Victoria while Fiona Shields and Amelia Ellis also got onto the score-sheet.

In the mens competition, it was a top of the table clash as Easts took on the Galahs in a close encounter.
The Galahs opened the scoring through Andrew Sinclair despite spirited efforts from Kym Wheeler in the middle of the Easts line up.
Ellen Baird doubled the Galahs' lead with the help of Jamie Piva, who assisted Baird in getting the effort past Easts goalkeeper.
Despite a strong push back from Easts, the Galahs held on to secure a vital 2-0 victory.
In the other match, Leeton Devils faced off against the Bulldogs.
Leeton's Ben Thompson scored the only goal of the encounter as the Devils claimed a 1-0 victory despite a strong defensive effort from Bulldogs player Cohen Harms.
