Over 150 Year 6 students will be starting at Marian in 2020, making it the largest Year 7 cohort the school has ever seen.
Principal Alan Le Brocque said the school had seen a considerable spike in the number of enrolments over the last two years.
"We've got our biggest Year 7 coming in, and we're making plans to accommodate those students," Mr Le Brocque said.
In previous years, Mr Le Brocque says, the school could expect to attract around 120 new students.
However he said these days so many students were applying to the school that they would need to start "looking seriously" into putting a cap on enrolments.
There is currently no cap on enrolments, but Mr Le Brocque said that may have to change if the school continues to get applications in excess of 150 students.
"We are getting quite full at the school and our enrolment priority has been, and always will be, Catholic students that are already in the Catholic School system," Mr Le Brocque said.

In the event of a long waiting list, Mr Le Brocque said the school would give first priority to local Catholic Primary School graduates, second priority to Catholic school graduates from out of town, and third priority to non-Catholic students.
Many of the students coming in to Year 7 are from Catholic Primary Schools, however there's also a growing number coming from the public system.
The school has also seen an increased number of students transferring from public schools in Years 8 and up, but Mr Le Brocque said it was no cause for alarm.
"There's always been movement in Griffith between government and Catholic schools," he said.
"There have also been some students who have transferred out of Marian and into the state system."
