It had been a tough three weeks for the Hanwood side who are winless in the past three matches with their only point coming from a 2-2 draw with Lake Albert in their top of the table clash.
Hanwood coach Anthony Agresta felt the break came at the right time for his side.
"It gave the guys a bit of a break and a chance to get over a couple of niggles," he said.
"We have had a couple of good training runs, and we have assessed a few things because the last month hasn't been the best for us.
"It has given us a chance to sort out what has been going wrong and how to rectify it."
It will be a tough run into finals, which is something Agresta feels could work in his side's favour.
"It's a good stretch of five games for us in the lead-up," he said.
"They are going to be against teams who are fighting for a finals position, so they will be pushing hard.
"You'd like to think we are almost there but with five games to go anything can happen. We still have a bit to play for."
Tolland is one of the sides fighting to keep their season alive, and that is one of the reasons Agresta knows his team needs to be on the ball.
"It won't be an easy one," he said.
"They are still just in the hunt for a finals spot, and they will make us work for it. In the first game, we were able to get the jump on them early, and it evened out from there.
"With it being at night, depending on the weather it might be a bit cold so it could be a tricky one."
When the side's met at Hanwood Oval back in round five, it was a 4-0 win for the home side with Michael Cimador, Joey Schirripa and Nick Kennedy finding the back of the net.
Agresta was pleased to see his squad returning to almost full strength heading into the weekend.
"Michael Cimador has been away overseas and will be back on deck and looking to work his way back into the side," he said.
"Everyone should be back on board this weekend as long as we can get through the week unscathed."
The Pascoe Cup game between Tolland and Hanwood will kick off at 7pm at Rawlings Park.
The women's side will be looking to continue their undefeated season when they return to the field this weekend.
They will take on Leeton United at MIA Club Oval on Sunday morning with kick-off set for 11am. Hanwood won the previous match between the two sides 6-1.
