Numbers lifted slightly this sale though lamb numbers remained steady. Lamb quality was similar to that of previous sales though there was less weight yarded than in previous weeks.
The usual buyers were present and competing in another dearer market. Light lambs lifted $2 to sell from $155 to $166/head.
Trade weights were $4 better to range in price from $182 to $234/head. Heavy and extra heavyweights were also $3 to $5 dearer with lambs up to 26kg selling from $231 to $271/head. Extra heavyweights sold from $275 to $310/head.
Carcase prices averaged from 985c to 1031c/kg. Mutton numbers showed the increase and quality was fair with good numbers of heavy sheep available. Prices showed a significant jump with heavy Merino ewes selling from $182 to $257 and a limited offering of crossbreds sold from $215 to $262/head.
