And it was all on show at the Griffith Business Chamber Awards night at Exies Bagtown on Saturday, where a strong sense of people-power thickened the air.
Finalists and first placers alike were met with rapturous applause throughout the evening, showing a clear sense of unity not just from within the teams, but for each other as well.
For some there was double the kudos, like Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod and Owen Toyota.
With a long and growing list of awards already under their belt, Aquna took away the Excellence in Sustainability and Excellence in Innovation awards.
Chairman Ross Anderson said the complementing ingredient to their "rare, pristine, white-fleshed, fine-dining" Cod dish was teamwork.
"We sell it in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, soon to go off to London and LA - It's an amazing story, and I'd really like to thank the team down there who test the water, feed the fish, and look after every aspect of it all," he said.
It was an emotional end to the evening for Owen Toyota, with twins Mark and Dean collecting the Local Family Business of the Year to sit alongside their earlier trophy for Outstanding Employer of Choice.
"We've had a lot of things against us, but one thing we had was good staff and a great town. This town is so resilient... We are up, and riding the wave of Griffith," Dean said.
"We are very honoured to be the winner of this category... I am almost embarrassed to win this, with so many fine nominees out there," Mark added.
And finishing off the night's speeches by "taking a leaf out of Snoop Dogg's book" Mark thanked himself for all of his own hard work and perseverance, and in turn every other Griffith business owner in the room.
The other deserving award winners of the night are as follows:
- Outstanding Young Employer Karly Sivewright from Griffith City Council
- Outstanding Young Entrepreneur: Tristan Sergi, from Tristan's Barber Shop
- Outstanding Business Leader: Justin James from JJ Farm Equipment
- Start Up Superstar: Griffith Regional Funeral Services
- Excellence in Micro Business: Bella Vita Riverina Tours
- Excellence in Small Business: Quest Griffith
- Excellence in Business: The Personnel Group
