Oh, plus a tidy $2000 prize money is nothing to turn your nose up at.
Salamis are swinging from shed shingles and frosty weather is creating the perfect cured cuts, and applications are now open to enter the annual salami festival, Festa delle Salsicce.
Organisers Nigel Ippoliti and the "retired" Roy Catanzariti say that this year will be about maintaining the traditions of the past - and with a sold out tent it's clear they are ticking all the right boxes.
"While last year a lot of people were trying out a lot of different and fancy salamis," Mr Catanzariti said.
"This year I think many people are sticking to the traditional, tried and true recipes, and this year has been absolutely perfect, with the best weather in comparison to the previous few years."
The age old rivalry between the Northern and the Southern Italians continues to the prestigious title of Salami King or Queen.
With the Northerners set to fight hard to keep the title in their hands after last year's win by brothers Michael and Luca Gamba, Mr Ippolitti said the pressure was on for the Southerners to put up a fight to reclaim the title.
Yet Mr Catanzariti said, much like the Blues in the origin, the Northerners would bring out everything in their arsenal to grab themselves another consecutive win.
But both agree - it would be great to see an Aussie come up from the underdog position to snatch the perpetual trophy out from under their collective noses.

While neither are quite sure when the last time an Aussie entrant won, that in itself shows it may be the time for non-Italians to strive for the title themselves.
Second and third places get $1000 and $500 respectively, as well as entry into the lucky door prize for a salami vacuum, entrants have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Those prize-winning hopefuls wishing to enter their salamis can do so at Leo Franco Motors, Mia Casa, TLE Electrical, or as always, by giving Mr Catanzariti a call on 0412 777 147.
