The Blueheelers were able to make a fast start with Jeremy Mau and Willie Lolohea crossing in the first 20 minutes.
The Waratahs were able to hit back with a try to Graham Levu however with 10 minutes to go in the first half Moses Lolohea extend the Yenda side's lead.
Kose Lelei and Malie Ngu were able to get across for the visiting side, but it was Yenda who went into the break with a 16-12 lead.
Yenda was the first to get across the line in the second half with Ofa Lalagavesi, but that seemed to spark life into the Waratahs.
Jonathon Sila and Ben Vearing were able to score two tries in quick succession to bring the sides level, and with 13 minutes left in the match, Ngu scored his second of the day to give his side the lead for the first time in the game.
Vearing was able to get over the line three minutes later for his second of the match and help the Waratahs to a 12-point win.
