Darlington Point Coleambally have the chance to all but secure their top-five finish when they take on Black and Whites at Solar Mad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Roosters are currently six points in front of the Panthers, and if they were able to pick up the two points, it would make it an eight-point gap with four games remaining before finals start.
Roosters captain Josh Veivers said it would be great to have their spot wrapped up.
"It is a big one for us," he said.
"If we can get the win, it pretty much secures us a finals spot, but we want to keep pushing to take a top-three spot and have the second chance if we need it.
"We just need to take care of ourselves."
Heading into the final five weeks of the regular season, Veivers doesn't feel his side have played their best football yet.
"We have been pretty scratchy so far," he said.
"We haven't put together a full 80-minute performance together this season, and we have never had a full-strength side.
"We are getting a few boys back over the next couple of weeks so that will be good."
Veivers said most of the team has stood up at different points throughout the season, but there have been a couple of standouts.
"Robbie Simpson has been doing well in the last couple of weeks," he said.
"Drew Hopwood has been playing well in the centres after missing a couple of games through injury, and the forwards are really starting to find their form.
"We just need to focus on getting through our sets, and if we can match the opposition in terms of possession, we can beat anyone on our day."
In the meeting between the two sides earlier in the year, the Roosters were able to pick up a 50-34 win over the Panthers at Coleambally Sportsground.
The action at Solar Mad Stadium will get underway at 11am with the League Tag with first grade set for a kick off at around 1.30pm on Sunday.
