According to the National Livestock Reporting Service vendors sold 8500 sheep and lambs.
Numbers eased this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the decrease.
Lamb quality was similar to that of previous sales with good numbers of grain finished lambs offered. Most of the usual buyers were present and competing in a firm to dearer market. Light lambs lifted $4 to sell from $146 to $156/head.
Trade weights were $7 to $8 better with prices ranging from $166 to $225/head. There was less weight yarded than the previous sale though heavy lambs sold $3/head dearer.
Those up to 26kg ranged from $217 to $146/head. Extra heavyweight lambs received from $260 to $335/head.
Carcase prices averaged from 875 to 953c/kg cwt. Mutton quality was reduced from the previous sale and Merinos made up the majority.
Merino ewes sold from $110 to $200 with heavy crossbred ewes ranging in price from $159 to $210/head.
