The closures at Wagga, Albury, Orange-Dubbo and Wide Bay will affect 35 to 40 staff, including casuals, across the local television news services.
It's not the first time cuts to Win's newsrooms have impacted the MIA, the region had a dedicated 30 minute bulletin produced from its Griffith office until 2006 when it moved to Wollongong.
Reporters were still station in Griffith to cover the MIA until the January 2015 when the last video-journalist resigned and Wagga's newsroom began producing stories from Griffith and Leeton.
Former sports journalist Brendan Catanzariti said the closure of the newsrooms was a "disappointing" end of an era.
Ray Gamble originally started MTN-9 in the 1960s producing news and even boasting a children's show - the Romper Room.
"He built it from scratch, got a licence to run it from Griffith and made ads," Mr Catanzariti said.
"To see the service decline over the years is disappointing."
Win Television is the affiliate of CBS-owned Network Ten and broadcasts in 29 markets across the country.
"The decision to cease production of the bulletins was based on the commercial viability of funding news in these areas," a statement from Win read.
"Changing content consumption habits and increased competition from digital content providers, that don't face the same regulatory conditions that challenge traditional media, has led to a reduction in demand for local news bulletins in these regions"
