According to the National Livestock Reporting Service lamb quality was fair with a good offering of grain fed finished lambs available. Heavy and extra heavyweights lambs made up the majority of the yarding.
Light lambs lifted $6 to sell from $138 to $156/head.
Trade weights were $2 to $5 dearer with prices ranging from $164 to $212/head. Heavy and extra heavyweight lambs showed the biggest change lifted $8 to $15/head. Heavy lambs to 26kg sold from $208 to $265 while extra heavyweights received from $224 to $340/head.
Carcase prices averaged from 863c to 940c/kg cwt. Mutton numbers were made up of mostly Merinos and quality was mixed. Prices jumped with Merino ewes selling from $124 to $245/head. Heavy crossbred ewes ranged in price from $190 to $225 and Dorper ewes reached $152/head.
