A first-half goal from captain Michael Perre was all that was required to separate the two sides after he was able to get on the end of a through ball and put the ball into the net.
Coach Ross Marando was proud of the way his side performed especially with Roy Catanzariti and George Pavese missing the clash through injury.
"I am very stoked it was a good win," he said.
"We haven't beaten them in a couple of years, and everyone worked really hard to get the result."
It also sees Yoogali FC rise to the top of the table and Marando is aiming to stay there.
"It's a good feeling for myself in the first year of coaching these boys," he said.
"It's been a while since we have been up here and hopefully, it's where we will stay."
Yoogali FC will now prepare to take on Hanwood next week
