Major Lyn Cathcart said while the door-knocking had concluded, volunteers would be walking the main street on Monday.
"It's down on last year so far - we are still counting, but last year we made $8000 on the Sunday and a total of $10,000.
"We are at $4000 at the moment, so you never know we may make last year's, but it doesn't look likely.
"I'd like to thank the lovely volunteers, and lovely people who have been giving."
Murrumbidgee Accommodation and Housing services was funded through the Red Shield appeal and by the government, with a financial counsellor and two rural chaplins were also partly funded through the appeal.
Without the support of the appeal, the help wasn't possible, and Major Cathcart hoped the appeal would be successful enough to start a soup kitchen one day a week to support the city's homeless, and those in need.
