After being beaten 32-17 by Griffith last week, their first loss on the field all season, the Wagga side responded with at 41-10 win at Conolly Rugby Complex on Saturday.
With the women's round offering up an anomaly the match ups were repeated, but Waratahs were the only side able to reverse the result.
Coach Mark Macarthur was impressed with the turnaround.
"On the first week we had a few new girls who weren't used to our structure but those girls come back and they really came away with it," Macarthur said.
Waratahs lost to Griffith in last year's preliminary final and remain in third spot on the ladder with the big result.
One of the smallest teams in the competition, the transition to 10s hasn't been without it's obstacles but Macarthur believes it is coming together well.
"With sevens it is obviously a lot more flowing while 10s allows for a bit more structure within the team," he said.
"We're obviously doing ok with that.
"Our team is a little bit smaller than most of the other teams, but with our structure we've been able to utilise our speed and agility to move us around the field at little bit more."
Twins Sophia and Andrea Kirkby both scored doubles in the win as did Tara Gourlay.
Wagga City scored a 51-12 win over Ag College with April Sharp scoring four tries.
Ellen McIntyre also crossed four times in CSU's 39-0 win over Albury with Sophie Thomson bagging a treble.
Leeton and Tumut deferred their clash until the bye on July 13.
Instead Hay travelled to Jarrah Oval for an exhibition game.
