Easter goodies flew off the shelves and baristas furiously churned out coffees from Thursday to Monday as celebrations continued throughout the town.

Yambil Inn Hotel secretary admin Janelle Smith said her hotel had been fully booked out nearly every day throughout the long weekend.

"We saw a noticeable increase in the number of families and people of older generations coming in," she said.

Visitors to Griffith were spoilt for choice when it came to Easter activities, which broke out all across the city.

One of them was at the McWilliam's winery, where hundreds turned up to try the wine, savour the sights, and keep the kids distracted.

McWilliam's regional cellar door manager Paul Richardson said they had seen a spectacular turnout every day throughout the Easter long weekend apart from Monday, when it rained.

"It was fantastic; the kids especially loved it and it was very well accepted by the public," Mr Richardson said.

Griffith City Council's tourism and events committee chair Christine Stead said it had been an "overwhelming" couple of days that had done wonders for Griffth's tourism industry.

"We had 3,500 people through Pioneer Park, a lot of visitors up and down the street for the sidewalk sale, and a lot of happy restaurant owners," Councillor Stead said.

"Overall it was a very good Easter."
