His comments come in the aftermath of Griffith's "Operation Tortoise", which was a police crackdown on drunk and reckless driving from Easter Thursday to Easter Monday.
With the combined efforts of Griffith Highway Patrol and Griffith General Duties Police, officers did random breath tests on 2414 drivers and caught four drivers on drugs and four driving under the influence of alcohol.
"A few drivers with alcohol and drugs in their systems still risk their own lives and the lives of others," Inspector Seddon said.
"Other than that, we're generally happy with the behaviour of drivers over the weekend."
Operation Tortoise was also run across the rest of NSW, and it also targeted other dangerous driving behaviours such as speeding, driving without a seatbelt, and driving while texting.
Operation Tortoise wrapped on April 22 at midnight, just as Easter Monday drew to a close.
