Deanna Marriott entered a baking frenzy on April 12 when she churned out hundreds of scones for Griffith's Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for the Cancer Council.

About 250 people came to the Exies Bagtown Function Centre to sip tea, nibble scones, and raise money for a good cause.
The numbers have been tallied up, and this year's Biggest Morning Tea managed to raise $9000.
In total, Griffith's Biggest Morning Tea has raised over $120,000 since it began in 1993.

Mrs Marriott has been running the show for the past 26 years, making her one of the longest serving stalwarts in the region according to Cancer Council communication coordinator Brianna Carracher.
"Without having people like Deanna to fundraise and do it so selflessly for her community, none of this would be possible," Ms Carracher said.
"It means everything to us."
The funding allows them to run programs such as Griffith's Transport to Treatment service, which helps cancer patients get to and from hospitals with the help of Cancer Council volunteers.
Cancer prevention is a cause that lies close to the heart of Mrs Marriott, who lost her friend Jan Newman to cancer in 2016.
It's a cause that the community always jumps on board with; every year Mrs Marriott gets donations of sandwiches and biscuits from local businesses and gets help from an enthusiastic team of volunteers.
"We always get wonderful support from the community," Mrs Marriott said.
