The Riverina Netball League season has gotten off to a tough start for the Griffith Swans with all five sides falling to opening round defeats when they took on Collingullie Glenfield Park.

A slow start from the Swans in A grade as they fell to a heavy defeat at the hands of the Demons. A 16-3 opening term set the foundation for the Collingullie side as they eventually came away with a 64-28 victory.
The A reserve side fell to a nine-goal defeat to start their season. The sides went goal for goal in the opening term before the Demons ran away with the game in the second and despite a spirited fight back the Swans side fell to a 45-36 loss. Collingullie were dominant in the B grade encounter as they came away with a 45-16 win.
It was a tight encounter in the C grade season opener. There was little to separate the two sides as the final whistle blew it was Demons who came away with a 27-25 victory. The under 17s fell to a narrow 37-29 loss.
The Swans will look to bounce back when they return home to take on Turvey Park after the Easter break.
