It started at around 4.30pm on April 5, when officers tried to pull over a 20-year-old man in a white Mitsubishi Outlander.
The driver refused to stop, instead driving away down Sturt Highway with two police cars in hot pursuit.
The man surprised officers by doing a U-turn and colliding with police cars before driving away.
Both of the police cars were so badly damaged that they were unable to continue the chase, but officers recognised the driver through the car windscreen.
Shortly afterwards police turned up at a house in Hay, where the man was arrested and charged with eight offences.
He was charged with driving a stolen car, trying to escape police, driving on a disqualified licence, two counts of trespass, and three counts of possessing allegedly stolen goods.
The man was refused bail and is due to front Griffith Local Court on April 10.
