While the Fifita Cup won't be played in its usual fashion this season, Marian Catholic College and Murrumbidgee Regional High School did battle in a new look for the competition.

The two schools met in a mixed league tag competition which looks set to take the place of the Fifita Cup competition with the hopes of bringing an even contest between the two secondary schools.
Marian Catholic College entered two teams into the competition while the Murrumbidgee put together four sides with Murrumbidgee Regional High School 2 taking out the competition.
In the pool games, they were able to take a 20-6 win over Marian Catholic College 2 while they took out a 32-6 win over Murrumbidgee Regional High School 4.
Their opponents in the final were Murrumbidgee Regional High 3 who came away with a 12-8 win over their Murrumbidgee Regional High 1 while backed it up with a 24-0 win over Marian Catholic College 1.
It was a close final, but the MRHS 2 side came away with an 18-12 win.
Meanwhile, MCC 2 were able to take third thanks to a better conversion rate than their MRHS 1 opponents as they came away with a 16-14 win.
MCC 1 was able to take fifth thanks to a 14-4 win over MRHS 4.
