“You guys have that red sandy earth, and it reminds me of Santa Fey New Mexico or Arizona,” Ms Childs said.
“It’s the same exact look.”
Ms Childs is an American-Australian singer-songwriter who has traveled widely to bring the sound of music to people around the world.
Now the Emmy Winner and three-time Grammy nominated artist has paid a visit to Griffith in the lead up to her two hour show at the Griffith Regional Theatre on April 6.
The show will be a blast from the past for her fans, who will be regaled with some of her greatest hits.
Her international hits include classics such as Don’t Walk Away, Stop Your Fussin’, Many Rivers to Cross, I’ve Got to Go Now and Because You’re Beautiful - just to name a few.
Griffith Regional Theatre manager Raina Savage was delighted to have attracted such star power to town.
“She has toured the world over gaining a much loved fan base so we are feeling very fortunate to have her perform here in Griffith,” Ms Savage said.
“Over Toni’s illustrious career she has opened for Bob Dylan and performed duets with greats such as Al Green and Peter Gabriel.”
When she plays at the the theatre she will be playing old favourites as well as music from two of her new albums It’s All A Beautiful Noise and Citizens Of The Planet.
Both releases are a part of two 3D Mapping animated shows – two hours of music, animation and high tech audience engagement.
She's visiting 60 theatres in regional towns as part of her biggest Australian tour ever.
