Hillston and Hay came together to provide a great atmosphere for the Can Assist Shield in Hillston recently.
The day started with juniors testing their abilities with Southern Inland Rugby putting on a junior clinic to help with developing skills.
The women's game went off without any issues and it was the Hay side who were able to come away with a 32-0 in the first women's 7s outings from both towns.
In the main event it was a tough contest with Hillston showing plenty of fight however the Hay side were able to come away with a 15-0 win when the final siren sounded.
The success wasn't limited to just onfield with the fundraising happening on the sideline having plenty of success as well.
The auction to help raise money for Deyan Cashmere and his family attracted plenty of generosity as they were able to raise just over $11,500 to help Deyan get over to America to receive medical treatment.
Hillston Can Assist was also the recipients of a generous donation as the day's events were able to raise $18,000 for the local branch.
