Aside from the smoke blowing into Griffith from Victoria, an under-control fire has been smoldering at Yarada near Darlington Point since February 12.

The fire started on February 12 and has so far burnt around five hectares of land.
"The fire was quickly brought under control and has been at patrol status for some time," said a spokesman for the Office of Environment and Heritage.
"National Parks and Wildlife Service staff are still monitoring the site as the area contained red gums which can smolder undetected.
"The NPWS will continue patrol regularly to try to ensure there aren’t any more ignitions," the spokesman said.
According to the spokesman the fire poses no risk to residents and sections of the national park near Yarada which were temporarily the closed due to the fire have been reopened.
