Elizabeth Moore achieved her childhood dream when she put on the blue uniform and joined the ranks of the Griffith police on March 4.

Ever since she was in primary school she knew that she wanted to either join the army or become a police officer just like her uncle.
He was against her joining the police force, warning her about the tough career path that lay ahead of her.
But nothing would discourage her from achieving her dream, so she enlisted in the NSW Police Academy and went through a punishing round of physical and mental training.
"It was tough, but it was worth it," Constable Moore said.
Alongside the rest of Class 336 she took on a gruelling gauntlet of physical exercise, academic study, and weapons training.
She survived the intense regime and became one of 60 policewomen who graduated the police academy's class of 2019.
Her graduation was attended by NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller, who congratulated the new recruits for overcoming so many difficult hurdles.
“Police play such an important role within our communities and these officers have worked hard – both physically and academically – to reach this milestone,” Commissioner Fuller said.
“These probationary constables will be tasked with ensuring the safety and security of the people of NSW, and I am confident they will do so with integrity.”

Moore was awarded the rank of probationary constable, but her training doesn't stop here; over the next 12 months she will continue her training at Griffith Police Station while studying distance education.
She will then get an Associate Degree in Policing Practice and ascend to the rank of fully-fledged constable.
In the meantime, she's keen to get out onto the beat and start working to keep the people of Griffith safe.
"I've always wanted to help the community," Constable Moore said.
Now that she has finally achieved her childhood dream job, Constable Moore is eagerly looking forward to tackling a tough career ahead of her.
