The children were obviously enjoyed being out of the classroom and out in Friday's gloriously cool weather, as their bags were filled to bursting with discarded cans, glass, and plastic.
"It was really nice and we are helping the environment so the animals aren't getting hurt," said year three student Isabelle Fitzpatrick.
Fellow student Daniel Panebianco said he often rides his bicycle around the hill and will be glad to have to avoid fewer glass bottles lying on the ground.
Year 3 student Rose Turner said "we found wine bottles, lighters, wrappers and someone found an iPad."
Meanwhile, teacher Melissa Graham said said she was impressed by the enthusiasm displayed by her students in helping to collect the litter.
However, she said the sheer amount of rubbish lying on Scenic Hill meant the bags could be easily filled again the next day.
