The new roundabout will go a long way to get large trucks off the main roads and ease congestion for drivers in the CBD as part of the Griffith Southern Industrial Link project.

The roundabout project is very much Griffith City Council's baby, having been designed and constructed in-house with council staff.
Mayor John Dal Broi said he was delighted to see the finish product, and he congratulated council on their team effort.
"With the increased freight coming out of Griffith and surrounds, it is great to see infrastructure that will remove very large vehicles from our city centre," Councillor Dal Broi said.
“On behalf of Council, I would like to thank the Griffith community for their patience throughout the construction program, particularly those residents and businesses who were impacted by the one way traffic closures during construction.”
Nearby residents will be breathing a sigh of relief now that construction on the roundabout is complete.
Many of them had been complaining about the slippery completion date which kept being kicked back further and further into the horizon due to "unforeseen circumstances".
But now that the roundabout is well and truly finished they will be turning their attention to upgrading Bromley Road and extending the industrial link to Lavender Bend.
Once the whole picture comes together the Griffith Southern Industrial Link will be an artery for trucks and freights to deliver their cargo between regions and interstate.
Traffic committee chairman Simone Croce, who is also a councillor, said the wait would prove well worth it.
"I know it took a long time, but we got the job done properly and it’ll be safer and better for everybody," Councillor Croce said.
The roundabout was funded half by council and half by the Federal Government to the tune of $1.6 million.
