Holding the awards for the 12th year, Griffith Musician’s Club is getting ready to once again hear the best sounds of music the town has to offer.
With an array of prizes on offer – including $1,000 cash for the winner and cash prizes for runners up from the Griffith Musicians Club – young talent have plenty of incentive to test their mettle.
The winner will join the ranks of Griffith’s best, like Janae Rosa, who performed on X-Factor, and Harriet Kelly.
As last year’s winner, Harriet has returned from an amazing time under the wing of Casey Chambers at the Tamworth Country Music Academy. Entering several competitions, she won the Coca Cola Battle of the Young Stars which sent her on to perform in and win the Champion of Champions.
Musicians Club president Michael Pfitzner said the young Musician of the Year Award has become a very important activity for the club, well supported by all its members who are keen to see the next lot of up and coming musicians.
“This exposure has also allowed some of the new talent to play with some of the already successful established bands,” he said.
