The 38-year-old, John Paul Hughes of Darlington Point, was caught driving a car with an unregistered trailer whilst disqualified on August 17 last year.
Police were patrolling Young Street at around 11pm when they saw the trailer and matched it to a description of one being used in illegal woodcutting in Willbriggie.
When they spoke to the driver, Hughes, he claimed to only be moving his brother's trailer to the back of the property from the front.
His licence had been disqualified from the March 11, 2011 to June 1, 2020.
Further checks revealed Hughes had been convicted at Griffith Local Court in May last year for the offence of drive while disqualified.
Magistrate Joy Boulos said the incident was at the "low end of objective seriousness" scale and Hughes should "consider himself lucky" in this case, but should he reoffend he would face jail time.
