Griffith swimmers enjoyed a successful outing when they headed across to Wagga to compete in the 2019 Country Regionals held in Wagga over the Australia Day weekend.

The Griffith Swim Club finished with a stack of medals with 13 golds, 21 silvers and 11 bronzes and the swimmers set 59 personal bests on a strong weekend.
Charlotte Hill was one of the top performers as she dominated the 9 years and under division, as she picked up golds in the 50m and 100m breaststroke while taking silvers in 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle and bronzes in 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle.
Samantha Taylor also dominated the competition in the female 14 years age group picking up gold medals in 200m breaststroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley alongside silvers in 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.
Candice Busby was consistent in all of her races in the 11 years age group with second place finishes in 200m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle while picking up third place finishes in 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 200m individual medley.
Jiordan Chapman-Wallace had a strong day in the endurance event with a second place finish in the 1500m freestyle, 800m freestyle and 400m freestyle.
For the boys, Charlie Chapman-Wallace was the best performer as he picked up first-place finishes in 200m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 50m freestyle and 200m backstroke in the 13 years age division.
