At about 4.35pm on Sunday the woman was travelling north on Murrumbidgee Avenue in Hanwood when she saw something run across the road.
In her attempts to avoid hitting the creature she swerved and drove off the road and crashed into an electrical pole.
The force of the collision caused an attached electrical transformer to fall off from the pole.
The car continued onwards and crashed into the fence of the neighbouring farm, causing damage to the fence.
The driver and her female passenger were taken to Griffith Base Hospital for examination.
Griffith police are investigating the crash.
