The Griffith Regional Art Gallery has opened its 2019 exhibition program with a stunning couture collaboration with Pioneer Park Museum. Celebrating the collection of fine couture, gowns and evening wear by Griffith designers, held in the two institutions. The exhibition will feature the Gallery’s Couture Collection and the Museums’ collection of gowns by Myrtle Crockford.
2. AUSTRALIA DAY
Griffith City Council to kick off national day with big breakfast on Scenic Hill
The 31st annual big breakfast will be held at Pioneer Park Museum from 7.30am, Country West, Jeff Gardner and Sing Australia will be performing.
After the breakfast Griffith will celebrate its best with an awards ceremony at Griffith Regional Theatre from 9.30am, followed by a free morning tea provided by Can Assist.
3. AUSTRALIA DAY AT THE SPORTIES
The Exies’ Sports Club will host live entertainment on Saturday
Max and Ted Jones will provide live entertainment at the Sporties from 3pm with the club’s bistro to open from midday. Contact the Ex-Servicemen’s Club on 6962 1211
4. FREE ENTRY TO POOL
The aquatic centre will open for free on Australia Day
There will be free entry to indoor swimming pool on Saturday from 8am until 6pm. Usual entry frees apply on Sunday and Monday.
5. LOCAL BANDS LIVE
The Southside Leagues Club will have live music from 8.30pm on Friday and Saturday
Through January, local bands will perform live music at the Southside League Club. Friday will feature Crazy Daizies and Happy Avenue will be performing on Saturday. Contact Southside Leagues Club on 6962 4577.
6. SUNDAY SESSIONS ON THE TERRACE
Relax on the terrace with music and friends
Enjoy the Alpen Terrace with family and friends at the Southside Leagues Club from 1.30pm on Sunday. Genevieve Chadwick will be performing. Contact Southside Leagues Club on 6962 4577.
