While it has been a tough first two days in the competition for the Country Thunder South West side, the Griffith players have made the best of the tough situation.
In their first game Country Thunder South West took on Metro Sixers North West in a Twenty20 they won the toss and elected to bat. While Hayden Forner (2) wasn’t able to fire when he came to the crease at the fall of the first wicket, Ben Signor (20) finished as the top scorer for his side as they were bowled out for 81.
Both Signor and Forner picked up a catch each as the Metro side were able to come away with an eight-wicket win with 4.4 overs remaining.
The next match saw Country Thunder side take on Country Sixers Greater Hunter in a 40-over game and after the Thunder side won the toss, they elected to bat.
Forner opened the batting and was quickly joined by Signor who came in at three and the pair were able to put on 37 runs for the second wicket before Signor (16) fell. Forner (61) passed the fifty mark before being dismissed as his side finished on 4/180 after their 40 overs.
Noah Gaske finished with a catch while Forner picked up a stumping before the Greater Hunter side picked up a five-wicket win with 6.1 overs remaining.
