The festival will be on May 5 and showcase the best of what Griffith has to offer, with local food, wine, music, and art on proud display.
The festival will boast a musical line-up headlined by Mental As Anything, YATES, The Echos, Zac Robertson Band, AKIB, and Ben Ceccato.
There will also be workshops held by local artists, a children's play area, and food and wine stalls.
The Piccolo family came up with the idea after the smashing success of their autumn festival, which had sold out all 450 tickets several weeks before the event.
This time around, event director Luke Piccolo is planning to attract people from out of town and make this festival even bigger.
“The funding received will enable us to promote and attract a visiting audience, who we know will be blown away by Griffith’s people, products, and hospitality.”
“We want to show off what Griffith has, and that is good food, good producers, good projects, and good people,” Mr Piccolo said.
The funding was announced on Monday by Member for Murray Austin Evans, who said the money would go a long way to attract more visitors to Griffith and give a boost to the tourism industry.
“A Day in the Orchard is a fantastic way to fuel our local economy by putting more heads on hotel beds, diners in our restaurants and shoppers in our boutiques,” Mr Evans said.
“Whether it’s food and wine events or music and sporting festivals, we know that events play an important role in driving additional overnight visitation to our region and helping to create more jobs.”
The funding is part of the NSW government’s Incubator Event Fund, which helps kick-start fledgling events like A Day in the Orchard.
