The practice of seniors being transported between the two school campuses to attend classes was already in effect at Griffith High and Wade High.
However, the practice is expected to increase this year and to continue after the completion of capital works for the school merger.
“To broaden curriculum options for senior students at Murrumbidgee Regional High School, the well-established practice of a limited number of students moving between campuses will continue,” a Department of Education spokesman said.
“Timetabling and appropriate transport arrangements have ensured the smooth transition between campuses, and there is scope to accommodate the foreseeable expansion of needs.
“Current and long term practice, covered by Department of Education guidelines, will continue to guide any circumstance of a student using her or his own transport,” the spokesman said.

According to the department’s policy on car travel for curriculum, a hired bus or coach, public transport or a school's own bus are the preferred methods of transporting students for school activities in NSW.
The policy also states transporting students in parent or carers', or other students' vehicles to school activities should only occur when where there is no other option.
