Michael Morrell, 38 points, won A Grade – nailing a birdie on the 10th – on a countback from Brad Lemon, 38 points, who drained a birdie on the 5th.
Alf Franchi, 38 points, won B Grade, shooting par 36 out with birdies on the 1st, 7th, 8th and 9th for 25 points out, but crashing to 13 points home. Runner-up Wallace Trembath almost reeled him in, carding 37 points. There were hot scores in C Grade with Mark Webb, 42 points, winning the chocolates – with a birdie on the 4th – one ahead of Mike Carnell, 41 points, scoring 23 points home with a birdie on the 16th.
Jason Magoci won the 8th Pro Pin. Alf Franchi is on a roll, also takiing the Pro Pin 15th and Par Three 7th, Tuiri Phillip 4th, Wallace Trembath 11th, Mike Carnell 16th. Vouchers to 34 points.
Another good field of 45 players contested Sunday’s single stroke. Col Vearing, 69 nett, won A Grade from Adrian Smith, 71 nett.
Mike Coleman 63 nett, played a great round of 77 off the stick to win B Grade. Brad Fawcett, 67 nett, was second.
Corey Saunders, 70 nett, was best in C Grade from Lucas Kidd, 71 nett. John F. Gale won the 7th pin, Col Vearing 11th. Vouchers to 73 nett.
The Volkswagon Scramble will be played this Sunday, January 20 with a shotgun start at 10am.

The Caltex 5s competition resumed on January 14. The first round will go for two weeks until Sunday, January 27 to allow players to organise their teams.
A reminder that the new golf rules came into play on January 1. Brochures from the club or Pro Shop.
The Brady Painters Norm Saxvick Memorial qualifier is on Sunday, February 3. Players must have played at least six competition rounds over the past year.

The veterans returned to the course last Thursday in a single stableford.
David Woodside, 35 points, won Division 1 from Mike Catanzariti, 37 points, on a countback over Joe Cudmore.
John Brennick, 37 points, won 19-24 grade over John Bortolazzo, 35 points. Garnett Reade, 36 points, won 25-36 grade; Gordon Druitt, 35 points, was second on a countback from Bill Wilkinson. Druit also won the 4th pin, Allan King 8th, Ken Alpen 15th. Vouchers to 33 points.
Veterans memberships fees are now due and another single stableford this week.
A two-grade single stableford was played last Wednesday. Brad Lemon, 36 points, won 0-18 Grade on a countback from Garry Gardner, 36 points, and Ryan Salvestro, 36 points.
Phil Papanddrea fired up to take out the 18-36 on 43 points over Derek Langford, 41 points.
