After resigning Kose Lelei as coach for another season, the Waratahs have managed to make their side even stronger with some key signings.
One of the biggest of which sees Luke Farmer return to the Tigers after a year away from the Group 20 competition.
Lelei knows that Farmer will have a positive impact on the side when he lines up in the halves.
“Luke brings experience to the team and is a massive bonus to the team this year,” he said.
“Along with Farmer, we have picked up Tom Sellas from Yenda who will add to the power in out forward back and have also picked up Jonathan Sila to add to our backline.”
Along with the signings, Lelei was also happy to see the Doug Alpen Shield clash with the Black and Whites back on the agenda for the 2019 season as a standalone fixture over the Easter weekend.
“It is good to have the Doug Alpen Shield back on Good Friday,” he said.
“It keeps the tradition going between the clubs.”
The Waratahs will get their season underway with a trip to Yanco to take on the Hawks on Saturday, March 30.
