David Parker was unloading rubbish when he tripped over and was taken to hospital and had his car and trailer returned by two helpful residents.
“They didn't know me from a bar of soap,” Mr Parker said.
“They showed great care for another person and I appreciate all they did and did so well for me, I just can't thank them enough.”
The 75-year-old retiree knocked himself out for a full 20 seconds after tripping over and hitting his head on his trailer while unloading green waste at the Tharbogang Landfill.
Suffering a concussion, two broken ribs, and a punctured lung, Mr Parker said the incident was not his first experience in being knocked unconscious. Despite his condition Mr Parker believes he would probably have tried to drive home had he not been rescued by Ronald Bamblett, and his dad Robert Monaghan.
Mr Bamblett works at Griffith Community Health Center and said that Mr Parker needed some convincing in order to sit still and wait for the ambulance.
“He had a bit of blood coming out of his head but we got his handkerchief put it on the wound, he didn't want to stay on the ground so we got him in his car with the air conditioning on him.”

Although the dynamic duo were both strangers to Mr Parker, the retiree said the two had generously begun helping him to unload his green waste at the tip before he fell over.
After the ambulance arrived at the tip, Mr Parker was then taken to hospital via his house where his wife Maureen was picked up and taken along with him to the Emergency Department at Griffith Base Hospital.
Following the ambulance was Mr Bamblett who safely parked Mr Parker’s car and trailer in his driveway.
During his stay in hospital last week Mr Parker could be found sitting up in bed and watching the cricket.
The retiree said his real concerns were for his wife Maureen and for his beloved garden of azaleas and camellias which said would have been suffering greatly.
