The volunteers met over the weekend to hone their radio skills in preparation for the upcoming year and to celebrate the success of 2018.
Previously the station had been running on a wing, a prayer, and the smell of an oily rag, but state government funding, an inflow of volunteers, and council community grants have given the station new life this year.
They were able to buy new microphones, amps, speakers, a mixing console and transmission equipment for their broadcast van, and soon they will finally be able to fix their bust toilet.
President Dolf Murwood said the radio station had gone from strength to strength over the year thanks to the support of the community.
“The people that are here are really dedicated to the radio station, which is terrific; we’ve got a great crew of people who are present,” Mr Murwood said.
“There’s always room for more volunteers, and there’s always a stack of things to be done around the place.”
Two new volunteers have joined the station, and they will be taking on a morning program in 2019.
