Christmas came early for the auxiliary, as presents poured in from all around Griffith, Yenda, Hanwood, and other surrounding areas.
Businesses donated their wares to the auxiliary, which crammed baskets and stockings full of prizes for the Christmas raffle.
With the help of the community the auxiliary managed to raise nearly $7000, which will go towards life-saving equipment at the Griffith Base Hospital.
For the auxiliary, the raffle is the biggest fundraising event of the year and a Christmas tradition that has gone on for over 30 years.
Auxiliary member Vilma Pellizzer said the support from the community blew her away every year.
“Thank you very, very much from all the people who donated from local businesses. They’ve been so generous in their giving,” Ms Pellizzer said.
“We appreciate their yearly dedication to this cause.”
The auxiliary will be using the money to buy equipment for the hospital, and making sure it stays at the hospital.
