It looked as if the Griffith side were going to pull an underdogs win after leading at all of the breaks, but the Wildcats proved just too strong when it mattered as they came away with a 64-58 win.
Both sides struggled to convert their shots in the early going of the first quarter before they hit their stride with Griffith heading into the first quarter break with a slim 17-14 lead.
The main break saw Griffith pull slightly further ahead as they outscored the Wildcats 11-10 and were looking strong and composed.
The message at halftime from West Wyalong did the trick with the Wildcats pulling to within pulling to within three points of the Demons to set up a tantalising finish to the decider.
Griffith raced out to an almost double-digit lead, and despite most of the crowd on their side the Wildcats were refusing to lay down and clawed their way back into the game.
With just over a minute on the clock, it was a three-pointer from Jalen Hurley which would prove to be the spark for the Wildcats as they ran away with the game in a high scoring final quarter to pick up the six-point victory.
