Two airlines have already expressed interest in operating flights between Griffith and Melbourne, just weeks after council agreed to pursue new operators for the route following delays from airline Connect Jet.

The outgoing manager of The Gemini has emphatically quashed rumours it will be closing down. Rumours had been circulating about the demise of the hotel and it was believed by some the Justice Crew performance last weekend was a farewell gig, but management have put those rumours to bed.

WARD TO REOPEN
Five months after it closed, Griffith Base Hospital will re-open its non-urgent elective surgery ward. Ten of the original 18 overnight beds will re-open on the ground floor, which was shut down because of a chronic nursing shortage.
NEW LIFE FOR REVAMPED PUBS
Griffith’s Hotel Victoria will be officially opening its new-look facilities tomorrow, showing off its renovations to about 300 invited guests with an evening of entertainment. Also opening tomorrow is Rankins Springs’ Conapaira Hotel, almost six years after it was destroyed by fire.
