According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service trade-weight lambs were well supplied.
Light new season lambs lifted $12 to make from $133 to $146/head. Trade weights were also $8 better, with prices making from $148 to $175/head.
Extra heavy lambs sold from $200 to $218/head. Old lambs were also $6 to $8/head better. Trade weights received from $146 to $184, with heavy and extra heavies making from $180 to $208/head. Carcase prices averaged from 730c to 770c/kg cwt. Mutton comprised mostly mixed quality Merinos and prices lifted. Merino ewes sold from $102 to $175 and crossbreds received from $107 to $144/head.
