Griffith High will bid farewell to its name when it merges with Wade High to form Murrumbidgee Regional School.
Agriculture teacher Carl Chirgwin said the school’s name had a lot of fond memories attached to it.
“The name stands for respect, resilience, and a lot of strong history,” Mr Chirgwin said. “There will be a new name, colours, houses, new history created, but you’ll never forget the old history of your school.”
The trip down memory lane is open to anyone who has ever worked or volunteered at Griffith High – whether it be as a teacher, a cleaner, or a P&C member.
The blast from the past will kick off on November 30 with a self-guided tour of the school at 5pm followed by a function at the Coro Club from 7pm.
The tickets can be bought at the school’s front office for $40 per person and will cover a meal, memento, live music, and a memorabilia display.
