Heading into the weekend no Griffith player had made a century in the competition, but this was a record the pair wanted to break when they came together early in their innings.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Griffith got off to a quick start with 11 runs off the first two overs before Ben Fattore (1) fell to the bowling of Tom Davies (1/42) in the third over.
This brought the dangerous pair of Signor and Forner together, and the pair kept the high scoring rate ticking along as they brought up Griffith’s 50 inside 10 overs.
The scoring rate for the pair hung around the five runs an over rate for most of their innings before they were both forced to retire once they brought up their hundreds.
Jake Rand (24) was able to make a quick contribution to have their side on 251 when they finally lost their second wicket of the day when Jensen Hargreaves (1/43) dismissed Rand with Griffith reaching the end of the 45 overs on a massive 2/252.
With a big target to chase it was always going to be a big ask for the Hay side to get into a winning position and losing wickets at regular intervals hurt their chances further.
With the score on 10, Hay lost Gemma Tassell (6) to the bowling of Jake Rand (1/5) triggered a tough period for the visiting side.
Not content with just a strong performance with the bat Signor (2/9) picked up the wickets of Davies (3) and Bohden Learmonth (1) while also running out Jack Headon (1) while Billy Evans picked up the wicket of Joseph O’Keefe (0) to have Hay in trouble at 5/16 after 11 overs.
Daniel Stewart and Adrian Pascoe tried to lead a fightback for Hay with a 14-run partnership before Evans (2/8) struck again to remove Stewart (12) before Hargreaves (0) fell to the bowling of Noah Kirkman (1/8) and Ryan Garcia (1/4) picked up Finn Cullenward (3).
Hay was bowled out for 58 with Daniel Whitworth (1/1) and Noah Gaske (1/0) picking up the final two wickets and see Griffith come away with a 194-run victory. Griffith will take on Wagga White on November 25.
