They may not like to spruik the fact but, the team at Leo Franco Motors invest between $60,000 and $100,000 dollars year back into the community through sponsorship of events, schools and sporting clubs.

Being a very humble man Leo Franco doesn’t like to advertise the fact that he gives so much back and didn’t want to disclose exact amounts.

“Children always come through the door to ask for sponsorship and we help them out,” he said. 

Just some of their efforts include sporting clubs, the Golf Day, Feste del Salsicce, and various schools.

One of the major events they support is Pink Up Griffith which sees $25 per car sold donated to the foundation.

“We light up the entire dealership,” sales manager Andrew Ross said.

Pink Up Griffith raises money for the McGrath Foundation and the local breast cancer nurse.

As well as supporting clubs and organisations they also like to throw their support behind individuals who really need a hand.

In 2009 they were involved with helping make a teenage cancer survivor’s dream of getting her licence a reality.

They modified a car  for her to drive, after she had been left with a numb right leg due to treatment.

This year they supported her again.

However, it isn’t just donations and support which help the local community. Shopping local and supporting other business is also a big focus for Leo Franco and his team.

“He gives back more than he takes,” Mr Ross said.

“He enjoys seeing money put to good use by clubs but is also very humble about it.”

The community reciprocate the support through buying and servicing their cars locally.

“That’s the great thing about this place. We’re so close to Wagga but people still buy locally,” Mr Ross said.
