MONTHLY medal day at the Griffith Golf Club last Saturday saw a field of 66 players challenge the course in a single stroke event.
Brett Polkinghorne, 69 nett, won the A Grade medal, firing 82 off the stick, carding eight pars from Neil Mahaffey, 69 nett, shooting 79 with 11 pars.
Jeff Wiscombe carded the best score of the day, 66 nett, to take out B Grade following a round of 80, nailing a birdie on the fourth.
Runner-up seven back on 73 nett was Garry Hartnett, failing to capitalise on shooting 42 out.
Jorge Wood, 68 nett, won the C Grade medal, draining a birdie on the 15th over Ray Barrington, 71 nett, only able to par three holes in shooting the neat 100 on a countback over Allan King.
Josh Stapleton won both Pro Pins. Par Threes: 7th Grant Semmler, 11th Jorge Wood, 16th Mitch Howard.

A two grade single stableford on Sunday.
Andrew Romagnolo, 38 points, nailing birdies on the 6th and 16th won 0-18 on a countback over Andrew Noad, 38 points on a countback, over Rob Trembath, 38 points.
Geoff Simms, 34 points, was best in 19-36 grade, Peter Clark, 31 points, was runner-up with a birdie on the 11th.
Wayne Bottcher won the 7th pin, Lama Lolotonga 11th.

Michael Coleman, 21 points, won Sunday’s Nine Hole Competition on a countback over Brian Corne,r 21 points.

The Sacred Heart Parish is organising a parish golf day, open to all members and non members, set down for Sunday, December 2.
The event is a three person ambrose, depending on numbers. Registration is at 1pm, tee off 1.30pm. Entry fee includes golf and a barbecue. There will be sheet on the notice board for entries.
Volunteers are still required to help in the Pro Shop, must be RSA qualified. Also to help in other areas.
Club Pro James Lethlean has taken upon himself to play 72 holes of golf in a day to raise money for Can Assist. He is looking for sponsors for this worthy cause.
Today’s event is a single stableford, Saturday a single stroke and Sunday the Volkswagon Scramble, a four person ambrose for both men and ladies with entries online of through the Pro Shop.
The veterans played a two grade single stableford last Thursday with 29 players.
Jim Dickie, 43 points, won 0-18, unlucky Tony McBride, 42 points second.
John Evans, 39 points, won 19-36 from Bill Brosn, 38 points, on a countback over Bill Wilkinson, 38 points.
Ken Alpen won the 4th pin, Brad Fawcett 8th, Gerry Cox 15th.
