Leagues won the toss and elected to bat and were able to make a good start with Logan Matheson and Ryan Greenaway putting on 17 runs for the first wicket before Matheson (12) was bowled by Hanwood captain Charlie Cunial (1/23).
Andrew Madden and Greenaway kept the score ticking over with a 39-run stand for the second wicket before the introduction of Todd Argus into the attack started to cause concern.
Argus picked up the wicket of Greenaway (15), Jimmy Binks (4) and Reece Matheson (4) while Dean Catanzariti took the wicket of Madden (25) to see Leagues sitting on 5/74.
Liam Greenaway and Conor Edenden steadied the ship for the Panthers with a 38-run partnership before Catanzariti picked up Edenden (16) while Ben Rowston (2/28) returned to the attack to dismiss Greenaway (19) and Raj Singh (1).
Babar Safdar (7) and Paul Plummer (5) added late runs before Catanzariti (4/26) picked up the final two wickets to see Leagues finish on 128.
Hanwood was able to make a good start with Brendan Hicken and Catanzariti putting on 20 for the first wicket before Plummer and Singh started to rip through the top order.
Hanwood fell from 0/20 to 6/27 with Singh (4/21) doing the bulk of the damage while Plummer (2/11) chipped in with two wickets.
Oliver Bartter and Rowston started to lead a fightback for their side with a 29-run stand before Ryan Greenaway struck to remove Bartter (12) and Angus Bartter (0) in quick succession.
Rowston tried to keep his side in it however the Greenaway (4/14) finished off the match as he took the wickets of Argus (3) and Rowston (19) in the space of four deliveries to see Hanwood bowled out for 66 in 21 overs.
Leagues will now prepare for a tough test when they come up against Exies while Hanwood will look to recreate their first-round performance when they take on Coro as the first round of timed cricket gets underway
